Leadership Styles come and go. We saw Situational Leadership, Digital Leadership, Servant Leadership, Post-Pandemic Leadership or Leadership in the New Norm, just to name a few.

At ATvisorโ„ข however, we believe that the best Leadership Style is the one which is founded on lasting values and principles โ€“ outliving any trend.

We would like to prove this concept along the example of Leadership in the AI Era, another hyped Leadership Styles. Leading in the AI Era eventually boils down to effective and lasting values once again; some of these values are ๐—œ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐˜๐˜†, ๐—–๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ผ๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜๐˜†, ๐—˜๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ต๐˜† and ๐—”๐—ด๐—ถ๐—น๐—ถ๐˜๐˜†. While none of these values is new, they can be easily applied to AI โ€“ like to any other leadership trend:

๐—œ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐˜๐˜†

Leaders must address ethical dilemmas related to AI, such as bias, privacy, and transparency while also developing guidelines and policies that align with organizational values. Leaders further encourage teams to explore AI applications and experiment with new approaches, giving space to fail fast, learn, and iterate to drive innovation. Since AI requires cross-functional collaboration, leaders should bridge gaps between technical and non-technical teams, facilitating communication and knowledge sharing.

๐—–๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ผ๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜๐˜†

Leaders must understand AI’s capabilities, limitations, and impact on their industry. Great leaders always invest in continuous learning to stay informed about any advancements. Leaders also encourage continuous learning among employees to adapt to AI-driven changes and provide resources for upskilling and reskilling.

๐—˜๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ต๐˜†

While AI provides data-driven insights, leaders must also consider human factors by cultivating emotional intelligence to connect with team members and stakeholders. Empathy is always key.

๐—”๐—ด๐—ถ๐—น๐—ถ๐˜๐˜†

Adaptability is always crucial. Leaders should pivot quickly based on AI insights and market dynamics. Agile methodologies can enhance responsiveness.

Hence, everlasting leaders lead along EVPs โ€“ Evergreen Values and Principles, rather than following the latest hype or leadership style of the year.

“Listen with curiosity. Speak with honesty. Act with
integrity.”

To master the AI Era as a people-centric leader, be an Intentional Leader!

Here are some thoughts on leading intentionally different with good intentions.

๐Ÿ”† Reflect and Be Intentional:

Take time to step back, reflect, and plan. Don’t just focus on getting things done; consider the purpose behind your actions. Being intentional can lead to a higher performing, more engaged team while driving productivity.

๐Ÿ”† Understand & Declare Your Intentions:

Honestly assess your intentions and ensure they are free from hidden agendas and possible self-interest. Declare your intentions since your behaviour may not display your intentions the way you intended.

๐Ÿ”† Show Interest in Others’ Intentions:

Take time to discover the possible good intention behind a questionable behaviour. While you may not agree to that intention, understand its origin.

๐Ÿ”† Embrace Difficult People and Situations:

Make it always about your reaction, never the person or situation. Every situation can be mastered – and no Difficult person was born being difficult.

๐Ÿ”† Move from Personality to Character – and know your Evergreen Values and Principles.

Discover your true values and principles. Know what you stand for, talk about it and live by it. This is the only way to truly lead authentically. Remember, intentional leadership involves purposeful actions and a commitment to positive impact.
