𝗘𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 – 𝗔𝗧𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿™ 𝘃𝘀. 𝗔𝗜

At 𝗔𝗧𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿™, we want to make a positive difference by intentionally being different. Our approaches and insights are simple, yet not simplistic. We strive to provide unique food for thought, rather than making people feel taught.

When it comes to the 𝗘𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, we first and foremost believe that leadership should be all about people. In its essence, 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 is about the𝟯𝗖𝘀 – 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵.

Quote_LeaderPosition-360Great Leaders are of great 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿, standing for lasting values, guided by effective principles. Character defines who we truly are rather than what we try to be.

Great Leaders also act like a 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀, giving people purpose and guidance, support and empowerment – rather than micro-managing people like a navigation system.

Finally, great leaders are great 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀, identifying and developing the individual talents in people, forming performing teams and asking insightful questions rather than believing they have all the answers.

We prompted 𝗔𝗜 about the 𝗘𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 – and we were very amazed by the resemblance, highlighted in brackets []:

Leadership is a skill that can be learned and developed. It is about guiding and impacting outcomes [𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘴], enabling groups of people to work together to accomplish what they couldn’t do working individually [𝘊𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩]. What’s more, leadership is not something people are born with—it is a skill you can learn. At the core are mindsets, which are expressed through observable behaviours, which then lead to measurable outcomes [𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘳].

Effective leaders know that what works in one situation will not necessarily work every time. Leadership strategies must reflect each organization’s context and stage of evolution [𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘴].

There are many contexts and ways in which leadership is exercised. According to McKinsey analysis of academic literature as well as a survey of nearly 200,000 people in 81 organizations all over the world, there are four types of behaviour that account for 89 percent of leadership effectiveness: 1) being supportive [𝘊𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩], 2) operating with a strong results orientation [𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘴], 3) seeking different perspectives [𝘊𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩], solving problems effectively [𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘳 & 𝘊𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩].
